Tonks' Final Fight - HP

Description

I always thought it was a shame that Tonks' and Lupin's deaths were almost a footnote in the last books. In fact, you were never told who died first.

In my mind, I saw Lupin dying first. Being a werewolf, he was most likely stabbed by something silver. (I am looking at you, Bellatrix. I wouldn't put it past you to have a silver knife in your arsenal. You'd probably have a name for it like Mr. Stabby.)

With Lupin down, Tonks rushes to him to see if she can do anything to save him. However, the wound is fatal and quickly, Lupin fades away. With tears streaming down her face, she slips her husband out of his robe, places his wand on his chest, kisses his forehead and drapes his own robe over him in.

Rising to her feet, she stares at the covered body hoping that he would get up once more and fight along side her. The two of them went into the war together and she wanted to come on out still intact and victorious. Ready to raise their child in a free and safe world.

But Lupin remains still.

The young woman sniffs the air, trying to fight back her tears. She fails. Still she manages to shove her sorrow down into her chest and switches the emotion for focused rage.

Her wand begins to spark wildly.

Turning to the battling masses behind her, she roars, "HEY!" Her voice chokes the attention from many. "NOW, WHICH ONE OF YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND?!"

And thus starts Tonk's final fight.

I have feeling that Tonk's was quickly taken down by a shot in the back. She never saw the spell coming.

Oh, and, yes, Tonk's is wearing Sirius' leather jacket, which can be seen in past works, only with a few bits of tweaking on her part. Namely, pins of her favorite bands, a Weird Sisters patch on her arm and an Union Jack patch in memory of her father and in honor of her mixed heritage.

Thank you for having Tonks, trained Auror, defending Lupin, instead of Lupin defending his helpless wife, as I have seen in too many pieces of fan art. In the magical world, being male does not make you the strong one!

Of course she never should have married that spineless hypocrite in the first place, but one can't blame Remus for that. It was obviously all her doing.
